Description
This clip demonstrates the difference in motor ability between wild-type fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster) on the right and flies carrying a mutation on a gene thought to be linked to ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease). These flies are part of research conducted by Nancy Bonini, professor of biology at the University of Pennsylvania and an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Credit: Nancy Bonini
